Overview
Forchheim is a small Franconian town that punches well above its weight for beer lovers and history buffs. Its old town retains medieval character lost in larger German cities, and the 10-day Annafest beer festival in late July draws thousands to 23 Kellerwald beer gardens on an idyllic wooded hillside.
