Overview
Flin Flon is a one-of-a-kind Canadian destination with a story no guidebook could invent: the entire city is named after Josiah Flintabbatey Flonatin, a fictional character who piloted a submarine through a bottomless lake in a paperback novel. The town was founded in 1927 by Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting to exploit copper and zinc ore, and its stark, lunar atmosphere comes from being built directly on exposed rock face.
