Overview

Flåm is a tiny village at the innermost point of the Aurlandsfjord, one of the most spectacular branches of the great Sognefjord. This former farming community has become one of Norway's busiest cruise ports, attracting visitors with iconic fjords, towering waterfalls visible from the deck of the Flåm railway, and the engineering marvel of the Flåmsbana itself.

Transport

Flåm railway (Flåmsbana) single tickets cost 300 kr adults, 150 kr children. Ferry between Flåm and Gudvangen through Nærøyfjord takes about 2 hours. Buses connect Flåm with Aurland and Gudvangen.

Maritime climate with high rainfall year-round. Summer highs around 15-20°C; winter temperatures hover near freezing. Rain gear essential regardless of season.
