Overview
Ferghana is a historic Silk Road city of 300,000 people (2022) in Uzbekistan's Ferghana Valley. The pass from Kashgar (now in China's Xinjiang) to Ferghana was an important link on the main course of the historic Silk Road.

4G is available from all Uzbek carriers throughout Ferghana and its highways. 5G is not yet available as of September 2024.
Food
Budget meals at shashlik stands cost around 15,000 som for two people including tea, salad, and bread. City market pickles start from 2,000 som.
Transport
Taxi stations for Kokand, Namangan, Andijan, and Tashkent are spread around the main bazaar area. Andijan has hourly air-conditioned buses (15,000 som) while taxis are faster.

Continental climate with cold winters (January avg -2.6°C) and hot summers (July avg 35.1°C). Spring and autumn are wettest.
