Overview
Enniscorthy (Inis Córthaidh) is a compact County Wexford market town best known as the headquarters and last stand of the 1798 Irish rebellion. Vinegar Hill, east of the town centre, was where rebels proclaimed the 'Republic of Wexford' before government troops encircled them on 21 June.
