Overview
Elburg is a small fortified city rebuilt between 1292 and 1296 in Gelderland, retaining its original straight street plan, moat, and city wall—a rare example of medieval urban planning in the Netherlands. Its compact historic center makes it walkable in an hour, but the museums and waterfront harbor reward a half-day visit.
