Overview
Eisenach packs two UNESCO-level cultural claims into a walkable mid-sized town: Wartburg Castle where Martin Luther translated the New Testament into German, and the Bachhaus museum dedicated to the Baroque composer born here. The town sits at a well-connected rail hub in Thuringia, making it a natural stop between Frankfurt and Dresden or as a base for day trips to Erfurt and Weimar.
