Overview
Dumai is a working port city on Sumatra's eastern coast and the main ferry gateway from Malaysia's west coast into Indonesia. Beyond serving as a transit hub, the city offers little for tourists—its appeal is purely functional, connecting travelers to onward buses toward Bukittinggi, Lake Maninjau, and other Sumatran destinations.
