Overview
Dongara and Port Denison are twin towns 4 km apart on the Mid West coast of Western Australia, with a combined population of just 2,782. Their main appeal is as a practical overnight stop on the Brand Highway (Highway 1) north toward Carnarvon, Exmouth, and Broome—351 km from Perth.

No general mobile signal in either town; Port Denison has a small 4G pocket from Telstra only. Come prepared with offline maps and no reliance on phone coverage.
Fuel
Fuel is reasonably priced near Dongara town turn-off and 30 km north at 'S-bend' station. Prices increase 10% near Geraldton and rise further beyond. Coastal Highway 60 has sparse, expensive fuel options.

Transport
Bus N1 runs M–Sa Perth–Geraldton via Dongara (~$65 single, arrives ~1:40 PM); Integrity Coaches to Broome 3x weekly. Book all drop-offs in advance.
Weather
Summer temperatures regularly exceed 35°C. Best visited April–October to avoid extreme heat. Always carry water when walking between towns.
