Why go?
Dipolog is the capital city of Zamboanga del Norte on the Zamboanga Peninsula in Mindanao. Known as the 'Bottled Sardines Capital' and 'Gateway to Western Mindanao', it is accessible from Dumaguete, Cebu, and Manila. Geographically part of Zamboanga Peninsula, it is not to be confused with Zamboanga City.

Get around
Do as the locals do and take a tricycle ride around the city. There are no taxis; mostly in-town transit is by tricycle or habal-habal (motorcycle taxis). Street names are rarely used; locals navigate by landmarks like Dipolog Boulevard, Lee Plaza, Plaza Magsaysay, and Dipolog Cathedral.

The center of Dipolog at night during Christmas is a wonderful sight with decorations and stalls. Must-see sights include the Dipolog Cathedral with its intricate hardwood ceiling, Casa Bernedo (a museum), and the Explore Dipolog Landmark.
