Overview
Deoghar (also called Baidyanath Dham) is a Hindu pilgrimage town in Jharkhand famous for the Baidyanath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The town draws over 5 million devotees annually, especially during the Sawan month (June–July).

Groundwater is the main water source; carry mineral water. Avoid Sawan (June–July) due to extreme crowds. Trikut Hill ropeway operates seasonally.
Transport
Deoghar Airport (inaugurated 2022) has flights from Kolkata. Deoghar railway station connects to major cities. Local transport includes unmetered taxis, auto rickshaws (₹500), tongas (₹400), and hired cars (₹700–1,000).
