Overview
Denizli is a working Turkish city with a population of 347,926 (2022), primarily known as a transit hub to the UNESCO-listed Pamukkale travertines 20 km north. Most backpackers spend just one night here before continuing, but the city has its own textile heritage, the famous Denizli rooster with its distinctive 20-25 second crow, and several mosques and parks worth a half-day visit if your schedule allows.
