Before you go
Connectivity
WiFi is limited to cafes and restaurants in surrounding villages. Do not expect connectivity inside the park. Spanish SIM cards work throughout the region.
Etiquette
Stay on marked trails in sensitive nesting areas. Do not disturb bird colonies, especially during breeding season (April-August). Remove all trash from picnic areas.
Packing
Pack binoculars for birdwatching, waterproof boots for rice field trails, and sun protection for summer visits. The levante winds can be strong in autumn.
Safety
Do not walk on dune formations at Punta del Fangar as they are fragile. Avoid swimming in unguarded lagoons. The levante winds can ground small boats unexpectedly.
Water
Bring drinking water for day trips as facilities are sparse outside villages. Tap water is safe but tastes flat; many visitors prefer bottled.
