Overview
Darmstadt is a city south of Frankfurt in Hesse, famous for its Jugendstil (art nouveau) buildings, including the Mathildenhöhe Artists' Colony (UNESCO World Heritage site). It is also the birthplace of Ecstasy and hosts the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC).
