Overview
Danxiashan is the most famous example of the "China Danxia" landform—red cliffs and valleys unique to China that resemble karst landscapes. The park features stunning cliffs, steep rounded red mountains, caves, forests, and lakes in rural Shaoguan.

Food
Restaurants near Yang Yuan Shi entrance: ¥10 noodles to ¥50+ meals. Bring snacks and water on trails—long stretches have no vendors.
Safety
Steep trail sections with some railings. Steps can be scary after dark. Lights guide the path from cable car station to sunrise viewpoint.
Transport
Arrive via Shaoguan's train stations or Danxiashan Station. Bus is the main transport between the two scenic areas. Cable car available in Zhang Lao Feng area.
Weather
Hot summers, chilly winters with significant temperature swings throughout the day. Dress in layers regardless of season.
