Why go?
Coventry offers a unique blend of history and modern urban culture. The city is famous for the 11th-century legend of Lady Godiva, who supposedly rode nude through the streets to protest excessive taxes, and preserves one cathedral as ruins after WWII bombing while maintaining a modern counterpart. While much was rebuilt in concrete post-war, it serves as a practical base for exploring the West Midlands, with direct rail connections to London and Birmingham. The city hosts annual festivals like Godiva Festival in September and Motofest, adding cultural appeal beyond its industrial past.
