Overview

Costa Adeje is a purpose-built resort town on Tenerife's southwestern coast, developed from the late 1960s onward as an upscale alternative to the rowdier Playa de las Americas nearby. The town is dominated by 4 and 5-star hotels with manicured grounds, and the beaches are well-maintained with golden sand.

Euro (EUR) is the local currency. Credit cards accepted at hotels, restaurants, and shops. ATMS available in resort areas. Titsa bus tickets can be purchased at the Costa Adeje bus station.

Safety

Well-policed resort area. Standard precautions for beach belongings. Water sports operators should be vetted for safety equipment.

Transport

Titsa buses (line 343, 111) connect Costa Adeje to Tenerife South Airport. The tourist train runs between Costa Adeje and Los Cristianos. Free shuttles to Siam Park and Aqualand from major hotels.

Weather

Subtropical climate with mild temperatures year-round. Summer highs reach 28-30C, winter highs 18-22C. Rare rainfall concentrated in winter months.
