Overview
Clonmacnoise is one of Ireland's most significant early Christian sites, founded in 547 AD by St Ciarán the Younger. The monastic complex features nine ruined churches, two round towers, a castle, and numerous carved stone crosses dating from the 8th to 12th centuries.
