Overview
Charlottetown is the capital city of Prince Edward Island in Atlantic Canada. It's a quaint and pretty town, small enough to be able to walk around, and has lots of good restaurants and bars.

The only hostel is Charlottetown Backpackers Inn (open April-October), dorms from $28. B&Bs and inns are plentiful but many close in winter.

English is the primary language spoken.
Transport
Taxis are flat-rate by zone: airport to downtown $10, around town $6-10. Downtown is very walkable.
Weather
Summers are mild to warm (highs ~24°C) with long daylight; winters cold but milder than inland.
