Overview
Calvi is the biggest tourist centre on the French island of Corsica, with a rich and chequered history from its strategic location. Despite not having a huge number of attractions, it offers stunning views, beautiful beaches, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Calvi is very safe, but avoid discussing Corsican politics and never call the island 'France' or 'French'.

Small red train from Île Rousse, blue train to Bastia. No local buses.
