Overview
Buncrana serves as the main staging post for exploring Inishowen Peninsula, the northern tip of the Irish mainland. The town itself has modest charms — O'Doherty's Keep beside the Crana River, a scenic pier, and a handful of pubs — but visitors come primarily to access the peninsula's wild coastline, Napoleonic-era forts, seabird colonies, and the trek to Slieve Snaght.
