Bunaken National Marine Park is one of Indonesia's most famous diving and snorkeling areas, drawing visitors from all over the world. It includes several islands beyond Bunaken itself, such as Manado Tua and Siladen.

Diving
Dives cost approx €30-40 each, equipment not included. Snorkel gear rental: Rp 50,000.
Entry fee
Park entry: Rp 50,000/day or Rp 150,000/year. Children under 10 free. Waterproof tag must be carried.
Money
Prices are quoted in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) and occasionally euros or dollars. Some high-end resorts price in euros.
Safety
Bunaken is malaria-free. Watch for venomous marine life and jellyfish. Use flashlight on roads at night.
Transport
Public boat from Manado: Rp 50,000 one way (June 2024), departs daily except Sundays around 14:00-15:00.
Water
No potable water on Bunaken. Always drink bottled water and ensure coffee/tea made with bottled water.
