Overview
Buġibba is Malta's main package-holiday resort town, a purpose-built coastal strip where mass tourism replaced traditional housing with hotels and prefab apartments. It has little intrinsic sightseeing appeal but serves as a cheap, convenient base for beach days and island-hopping.

Before you go
Accommodation
Book package holidays or hotels in advance for best rates. Malta's star ratings are optimistic; a 4-star local rating ~3–3.5 stars internationally.
Food
Tourist-oriented restaurants dominate; authentic Maltese cuisine is rare—InCognito Bar is one notable exception on Fliegu Street.
Money
Euro (€) is the local currency. Imported drinks are expensive; local Carlsberg, Cisk, and Maltese wine offer better value under €3 per pint.
Nightlife
Buġibba's main square and Tourist Street (Triq it-Turisti) have pubs, karaoke bars, and live entertainment. Quiet bars also available for low-key evenings.
Transport
Bus routes 49, 58, 59 and others serve Buġibba; the Qawra Bus Terminus is the main hub. Malta has no train or tram.
