Packing
Bring sturdy walking boots for Beinn na Caillich hike as paths can be rocky and steep. If kayaking, bring your own equipment as there is no hire facility.
Transport
Broadford is Skye's main bus hub with Citylink buses to Glasgow (6h30m) and Inverness (2h30m). Ferries to Mallaig depart from Armadale; book ahead in summer.
Weather
Scottish island weather is unpredictable. Pack layers and waterproofs year-round. Midges (small biting insects) are prevalent in summer, especially near standing water.
