Stay safe
Drunken violence can occur around the centre on weekend nights, especially near Baldwin Street at pub closing times. Avoid isolated areas after dark. Beggars and drug scams (selling bogus parcels) are common; stick to populated areas. Knifepoint robberies have been reported but are rare in tourist zones.
