Bourg-Saint-Maurice is a gateway to the Les Arcs skiing area, with pistes reaching up to the Aiguille Rouge summit. In summer, the town transforms into a hiking and whitewater destination, having hosted the ICF White Water Championships three times (1969, 1987, 2002).
