Food
Must-try foods include kebab, local bread, ice cream, and local halva and sweets. Doogh (yogurt drink) and Ash (Iranian soups) are popular. Alcohol is not served.
Language
The local language is Borujerdi, a regional accent of Persian and Lori. Standard Persian is widely understood. English is not commonly spoken, but university students may be able to assist.

All payments should be in Iranian rials. Day taxis cost around US$39 or less; short taxi rides are US$2 or less. ATM availability should be confirmed before arrival.
Safety

Transport
Buses connect Borujerd to Tehran (4 hr), Shiraz, Isfahan, and other major cities. Dorud railway station is 45 km southeast with 40-min minibus connection. No public airport exists.
