Bekasi is the largest city in West Java province and the 3rd largest city in Indonesia with a population of about 2,650,000 (2024). Part of the Jabodetabek Greater Jakarta metropolitan area, it serves as both a commuter city for Jakarta workers and an industrial hub with numerous factories.

Transport
Angkots (minibuses) are the cheapest local transport at Rp2,000-5,000 per ride. Taxis, online ride-hailing (Grab/Gojek), and becak rickshaws (around Rp10,000) are also available.
