Overview
Bazhong is a prefecture city in northeastern Sichuan with a 2020 population of 2.7 million, about 1 million in Bazhou district at its center. Located in the Daba mountainous area adjacent to the Qinling-Huaihe River line, it offers access to forest parks, Ming-Qing dynasty architecture, and local Sichuan cuisine without the crowds of major tourist destinations.
