Before you go

Accommodation

Few hotels exist, all near the beachfront promenade. Options include Arena Hotel (luxury), Armon Yam Hotel (3-star), and Colony Beach Apartments. Hotels serve visitors to nearby Holon and Rishon LeZion which lack accommodation.

Activities

Beaches are the main attraction. Beyond the shoreline, there is little of tourist interest in Bat Yam itself. Use as a base for day trips to Holon or Tel Aviv.

Food

Restaurants line Ben Gurion Street near the promenade. Options include 24-hour Gorilla Caf'e Bar (dairy), Nirvana at Tobego (meats), Japanika (Asian), and BG99 (burgers). Tayo Beach offers a private beach with meats restaurant near the Rishon LeZion border.

Transport

Two train stations (Bat Yam-Komemiyut, Bat Yam-Yoseftal) provide access to Tel Aviv and southern destinations. Local Dan bus Line 6 serves the city, but buses heading to Tel Aviv are more practical for longer routes.

Weather

Summer heat makes walking uncomfortable even for short distances. Spring and fall offer milder temperatures. Sea breezes moderate the coastal climate.
