Overview
Bangar is the administrative centre of Brunei’s Temburong District, a region so isolated that reaching it from the capital requires either a 45-minute boat ride upriver or crossing through Malaysian Sarawak. The town itself is quiet and compact, with the market food hall, mosque, and community centre on the west bank of the Temburong River, and the government centre, grocery store, and hospital on the east bank.
