Safety
Watch for bison, prairie rattlesnakes, and prickly pear cactus. Thunderstorms and blizzards can occur suddenly.

Potable water only at visitor centers and campground (seasonal). Do not drink untreated water.

Summer highs can exceed 100°F; winter lows below 0°F. Windy year-round. Spring is wet; August is hottest.
