Overview
Bad Muskau is a UNESCO World Heritage site home to the largest English-style landscape garden in continental Europe, spanning 2050 acres across the German-Polish border. The park was designed by the eccentric Prince Hermann von Pückler-Muskau (1785–1871), an adventurer, writer, and landscape gardener whose motto was 'A park must be like an art gallery, every few steps you should see a new picture.' Two thirds of the park lies on the Polish side, making this a unique cross-border experience without border controls since European integration.
