Overview
Assmannshausen is a tiny wine village of about 1,000 people at the southern end of the Rhine Valley, incorporated into the town of Rüdesheim. It is the only spot in the entire Rheingau wine region that grows red wine, producing the highly regarded Assmannshäuser Spätburgunder, a Burgundy-type Pinot Noir.
