Overview
Ascension Island is one of the world's most remote inhabited islands, a British overseas territory in the South Atlantic Ocean roughly 700 miles northwest of Saint Helena. Its appeal lies in raw natural beauty—lush Green Mountain National Park contrasting with volcanic desert plains, pristine beaches where green sea turtles nest, and excellent sport fishing in rich Atlantic waters.
