Food
Try palusami and roast pig from umu. Local markets sell fresh fruit and kava.
Safety
Free-roaming dogs are a problem at dusk; ignore them. Alcohol-related violence occurs near nightlife. Do not leave valuables unattended.
Transport
Taxis are cheap and easy to hail; ridesharing (Uber/Lyft) is common. Buses from Apia serve all of Upolu.
Water
Tap water purity is questionable; factory-bought ice is safe.
