Overview
Alcochete is a small town on the Setúbal Peninsula that offers a quieter, more local experience than nearby Lisbon. It's best known for the Igreja de São João Baptista, a 15th-century church classified as a national monument since 1910, and its proximity to the Freeport Fashion Outlet.

Tourist information office at Jardim do Rossio is open Tuesday to Sunday 10:00–13:00 and 14:00–17:30.
Transport
TST buses connect Alcochete to Lisbon and Setúbal. The A12 motorway provides direct access. No train station exists in town.
