Overview
Air Itam is a suburban town on Penang Island famous for two major attractions: Kek Lok Si Temple, the largest Buddhist temple in Southeast Asia, and Penang Hill, a colonial-era hill station with sweeping views of the island. Located west of George Town, it offers a more authentic local experience than the tourist-heavy city centre, with affordable Assam Laksa at the market and fewer crowds at temples.
