Overview
Aguada is one of Puerto Rico's oldest settlements, founded in 1510 as Villa de Sotomayor, making it a historical counterpoint to the island's more touristy destinations. The town sits in the Porta del Sol tourism region and offers multiple beaches, a historic sugarcane refinery, and monuments marking Christopher Columbus's possible 1493 landing site.
