Connectivity
Communications are limited on the island; some villages have public phones but mobile and internet service is unreliable.
Etiquette
Leave offerings (tobacco/cigarettes) at shrines out of respect. Local people are usually obliging if you wish to participate in cultural activities.
Safety
Medical facilities are limited to a local clinic and village nurse. Bring all required medications and basic medical supplies as pharmaceuticals are not available.
Transport
Bonriki International Airport on South Tarawa is the only international gateway. Air Kiribati and Coral Sun Airways provide weekly inter-island flights.
Water
Bring additional supplies of drinking water. Clean water access cannot be guaranteed in all areas.
