    Ad Dakhla is a remote Saharan city that has become a world-class kitesurfing and windsurfing destination. The peninsula offers conditions on both the Atlantic Ocean western side and the sheltered lagoon on the east, with consistent wind almost year-round.

    El Aaiún is the largest city in Western Sahara with a population just over 210,000, serving as the de facto capital under Moroccan control while also being claimed by the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic. The city offers a unique blend of Moroccan and lingering Spanish colonial heritage, with former Spanish outposts still visible throughout.
