  • Huambo

Huambo is a recovering Angolan city in the Central Highlands that was planned in 1912 as Nova Lisboa, the new capital of Angola. The civil war left most buildings riddled with bullet holes, but reconstruction efforts have restored much of the Portuguese-style city center.

  • Lobito

Lobito is Angola's third-largest city with 436,000 residents, famous for its exceptionally long natural harbor stretching 5 km along the Restinga Peninsula. The city serves as a major Atlantic port and railway hub connecting to the interior of Central Africa, making it a transit stop for cargo and adventurous travelers.

  • Luanda

Luanda is Angola's capital and Atlantic coast hub, undergoing a remarkable transformation since the 2002 end of its long civil war. Oil and diamond wealth funds constant construction, new six-lane highways, and the replacement of bullet-riddled tower blocks with social housing.
